EDWARD DOYLE PASCHALL
(1924-2008)


Edward Doyle Paschall Sr. was born in Madill, Okla., on Nov. 14, 1924. As a young man he became enthralled with the idea of being a pilot. He realized his dream when he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp towards the end of World War II. He was stationed in Korea, Japan and Guam, where he met his future wife, Edith Luginbuhl. When he was transferred to San Angelo, Texas, Edith soon followed and they were married. They subsequently lived in Moultrie, Ga., Forest Park, Ga., College Park, Ga., Enterprise, Ala., and settled in Tallahassee in 1964. While working as a pilot for the State of Florida, Ed also continued serving in the Air Force Reserves, ultimately retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was also a certified watchmaker and owned his own business, Father Time, for many years. Ed was a Past Master of Robert Butler Lodge No. 305, Past Dist. Deputy Grand Master 7th Masonic District, member of the Knight York Cross of Honor, 32nd Degree Knight Commander of the Honor Court of the Scottish Rite, Past Patron of Robert Butler Chapter 285 and Tallahassee Chapter 119 Order of the Eastern Star, and member of Marzuq Shrine Temple. He also lobbied for AARP, was a past President for the local AARP chapter, a member of local VFW Post 3308 and was active in Quiet Birdmen. He is preceded in death by his wife, Edith, and sister Mildred. He is survived by a sister, Maxine Paschall of Ardmore, Okla.; four children, Shelley Paschall of Tallahassee; Paige McGlathery of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kimber Richter of Lecompton, Kan., and Edward D. (Mack) Paschall Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla; and two grandsons, Nicholas Paschall Richter and Loren Charles Richter, both of Lecompton, Kan. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Marzuq Shrine Transportation fund or to Big Bend Hospice House. The funeral will be for family only and information regarding the memorial service will be announced later.
