3302ND PILOT TRAINING SQUADRON
The 3302nd Pilot Training Squadron was the U.S. Air Force contingent assigned to Spence Air Base. It encompassed all military personnel assigned to the base, handled all non-flying military training and operations, and monitored the Hawthorne School of Aeronautics flying training program. Included was a staff of military check pilots whose job was to ascertain that flying training provided by Hawthorne conformed to strict USAF standards. The commanding officer of the 3302nd also served as the Base Commander of Spence.
